My 2002 Ford Explorer was humming loudly while running so I brought it into Silverlake Automotive to have them check it out. They said the power steering pump was going bad and would need to be replaced eventually but at that time just replaced the power steering fluid and repacked the wheel bearings and said that should take care of most of the humming. They said it would be $350 so I had them go ahead and do it. I went in to pick up the car and it was $480. The humming was still there but slightly quieter. My wife just went into Valvoline, which is a block down the road, to have the oil changed and they told her that humming noise was coming from idler pulley which they installed and replaced for $74. Silverlake automotive was probably correct that the fuel pump will need to be replaced and I'm sure the things that they changed out needed to be changed out but ultimately they did not fix the problem I came in for and it was much more expensive than it was to get the actual cause of the humming fixed at Valvoline.

I love this place they're very very nice people. I started going there just a couple weeks ago they worked on my mountaineer and I walked out a very happy person with under 200 bucks plus they gave me a 49er discount. I went to another place it cost me $161 for them to look at my vehicle and wanted me to pay over 1500 to have it repaired. I called Silverlake they looked at it and repaired it it for 180 bucks. I would highly recommend these people for anything and I have I posted it all over Facebook. Oh by the way thank you for the Christmas card, I love it....
